1.Computer
Solutions I Grades 6-7
This nine week course is designed
to provide basic exploratory activities in computer applications.
Topics include basic operational skills, word processing, desktop
publishing, multimedia, telecommunications, spreadsheets, and legal
and ethical issues related to technology.

2. Computer
Solutions II Grades 6-7
Prerequisite: Computer Solutions
I
This nine week course expands
upon the Computer Solutions I course in computer/technology for
middle school students. An introiduction to graphics and databases
is included at this level. Acceptance into the course will be based
upon successful completion of Computer Solutions I or teacher recommendation.

| 3.Keyboarding One-half
credit, one semester, Grades 7 and 8
Students acquire skills in developing
touch keyboarding techniques and become proficient computer users.
The course includes word processing applications. Review of standard
grammar usage and development of proofreading and editing techniques
enable students to compose, organize, and edit documents at the
keyboard.

Keyboarding Applications One-half
credit, one semester, Grades 7 and 8
Prerequisite: Keyboarding (BE
6151) Course articulates with Tidewater Community College
Students elevate skill
levels on the keyboard, increasing both speed and accuracy. Students
produce a variety of advanced personal and business documents. Emphasis
is placed on formatting of documents, including research papers,
letters, tables, and technical reports.

Advanced Computer
Solutions
Grade 8, one semester
Prerequisite: Computer Solutions
I, II, or Keyboarding
This semester course provides
advanced exploratory activities with computer applications focusing
primarily on problem solving through the use of programming, multimedia,
and graphics applications. Acceptance into the course will be based
upon successful completion of Computer Solutions I, II, Keyboarding,
or teacher recommendation.
