Financial
Skills is a nine-week Work and Family Studies exploratory course
for seventh grade students designed to teach the basics of personal
money management., course objectives include the decision making
process used to set goals and budget spending, the basics of banking
services, and the basics of earning, spending, saving, and managing
credit. The objectives will be taught using real-life situations
and applying problem solving skills and critical thinking. |
Exploratory
Teen Living 7 (HE 8207)
This nine week course is focused on
fundamental career and job skills for life long use. The skills
students learn include: preparing to be a competent babysitter;
identifying emergency procedures; using rules for table setting service;
practicing table manners; calculating measurements and preparing nutritious
meals; and constructing a clothing project. |

Skills Grade 8 (HE 8252)
This semester course is designed for eighth graders to learn job-readiness
skills. These skills iclude showing concern for the customer,
improving work processes continuously, maiking decisions based
on accurate data, solving problems, and demonstrating the value
of teamwork.

Exploratory
Teen Living 8 (HE 8210)
This semester course emphasizes consumer
and resource management skills. The skills students learn include:
identifying business opportunities for teens, executing a business
plan for an entrepreneurial project, planning and preparing a nutritious
meal, organizing and constructing a garment, and organizing
individual living space to create a pleasant living environment.
